Although feminism is considered as a pop culture these days, it doesn’t mean all problems are resolved. A bit contrary! If this person is blunt to ask me questions directly regarding the silent supporters he has. To me, the fact that women need to ask permission to do anything that goes back to the weirdest argument such as solo travel!
Feminism is all about avoiding gender discrimination in all possible ways. It is all about equal opportunities and rights. So how many your husband’s ask your permission to go for a trip? How many need to justify their solo travel? And how many are judged for their life choices?
I’m an independent woman and I love to live the same way. Various traits have forced me to grow up quickly, in fact, much quicker that I must have, and therefore my patience meter is always “UP” when it comes to people not being self – determined. You can call me as you wish, fat, ugly and whatever you like – I just don’t care about it. But don’t you dare tell me that I’m not an independent female solo traveler! It is a silly concept!
A usual life will always be working hard to score a good job and make money to afford the expensive clothes and savor the best restaurants! But this is not me! I wished to chase my dreams which make me happy!
I had always wanted to solo travel more. On vacations, I had a chance to meet new people who gave up their high paying careers to travel long term. I was envious and decided in my teens that I could do that. To me, marriage is not about giving up who you are for the eternity of someone.
It is more about getting the right person who can support and compliment you, who wish to make your dream true, give better vision, and with whom you can make a good team. I agree with the idea of marriage, but not all are same. But my idea on “Men and Women are equal” will not change.
Our marriage life filled with joy and happiness. We love each other and remain independent! We have our own interests and hobbies. He is always busy with his business and his sports activities, on the other hand, I love to visit cities and explore the new ones as much as I can. Feeling problematic? But we decided to live on our passions separately, rather than having to compromise and end up in a crisis where there is no true love. So this doesn’t mean that we spend only a bit apart, but since we are not a fusional pair, this absence actually helped us to grow fond of each other. I am never happier when I reach home to see my husband after two weeks on the road.
Every woman and every man have the rights to lead a self – determined life to do whatever they wish. Including married people!
